We may be emerging from the worst part of the recent recession but how many people are out of work and looking for new employment? Its a good time to start your own business and even though the recession has forced companies to cut back, an office cleaning business is a great one to consider, not least because there has been and always will be a need for such a service.
Added to this is that you already have your own set of cleaning products and tools in your home – vacuum cleaner, polish, detergents, cleaning cloths, probably a mop and bucket, brush and dust pan. Chances are you have a car too, just any old car will do fine, so you have in fact a ready-made business here!
So lets compare these products to what you will be actually doing if you go ahead with your business.
In most offices there will be desks to dust, floors to be mopped, toilets and sinks to be sanitized, phones and computers to be wiped down, perhaps a small kitchen area to be cleaned up including a microwave, a small oven and refrigerator, garbage to be emptied, floors to be vacuum cleaned. Basically this sums it up nicely – seems then you already have all the necessary products, which are the same or similar to those you use at home. Nothing to buy so you can get started right away!
Sure, you will need to top up on the various cleaning agents such as toilet and sink cleaner and floor cleaner, but just purchase as you need them. In other words there is a good chance you have already been paid up front for the products even before you have to replace those you have used.
Rubber gloves are necessary too – again either you already have them or they are very cheap to buy at the local market or haberdashery store. The vacuum cleaner will be the most expensive item, but again this is something you will probably already possess. Although yours may not be an industrial vacuum, initially there is no requirement to have one. If you do decide you want an industrial vacuum cleaner, you can pick them up on ebay for quite a bit less than $100.
So there you have it, for a very small investment or very possibly no investment at all, you have yourself a ready-made office cleaning business which is geared up and ready to go as we speak!
